Produced on site during a year long residency at the Chicago Perch, teach me how to live indoors is a series of superimpositions and "demonstrations" influenced by Ellen Swallow Richard’s “First lessons in food and diet” (1904). The text of early ecology meant to acquaint participants with sanitary practices for domestic dwelling with other organisms; teach me how to live indoors invites participants in practices atetmpting to learn not from human directives but from the molds, plants, animals, and microbes themselves.
